Fantasy Dynasty Changelog
Everything that shipped to Fantasy Dynasty, release by release: new features, improvements and fixes for the NBA & WNBA fantasy basketball platform.
- 2026-09-01 · New — League chat, reimagined: A major upgrade to league chat. It now narrates the season on its own — completed trades, every draft pick (auction, main, rookie and expansion), awarded waivers and RFA outcomes post automatically as system messages, each in your own language. Plus: emoji reactions on any message, @mentions that notify teammates (with autocomplete and highlighting), edit and delete your own messages (commissioners can moderate any and pin announcements to a banner), the ability to load older history beyond the last 50, and live “is typing…” indicators.
- 2026-08-30 · New — Salary floor is now enforced: The Minimum Salary Floor is no longer just a target. At the end of a season, a team below the floor distributes the shortfall across its roster — every player's cap hit is raised pro-rata until the team reaches the floor, exactly like the real NBA CBA (the money goes to the players, with no dead cap).
- 2026-08-30 · Fixed — Salary-cap correctness hardening: A batch of behind-the-scenes fixes to keep every cap figure exact: whole-dollar money throughout (no stray cents in dead cap or trade matching), guaranteed one salary row per contract-year, stricter bounds on commissioner settings (apron/tax ordering, dead-cap penalties), and safer retries so a busy trade never fails silently.
- 2026-08-20 · Improved — Better draft room: pick log, your roster & future salaries: Both the live auction and the snake draft now show a running pick log (who took whom, for how much), keep your own roster and committed cap always visible while you draft, and surface each player's projected salary in Year 2/3/4 right on the board — so you can plan the dynasty years, not just Year 1.
- 2026-08-19 · Improved — League settings page shows every rule: The read-only League Settings page now lists the entire dynasty/CBA toolkit the commissioner configures — every rule and toggle, active or off, with its parameters — so members and guests can see exactly how a league is set up at a glance.
- 2026-08-04 · New — Undo an accidental keeper finalization: Finalizing keepers is a big, destructive step — now it's reversible. The commissioner can undo an accidental finalize and get the exact pre-finalize rosters back (contracts, salaries and keeper choices), as long as the league is still in the off-season keeper window and the draft hasn't started.
- 2026-07-27 · New — Two-factor recovery codes & safer 2FA: Turning on two-factor authentication now gives you ten one-time recovery codes to save — so you can still get in if you lose your authenticator app. And disabling 2FA now asks for a valid code first, so no one can quietly switch off your protection.
- 2026-07-27 · New — Export your league and your personal data: Download a full backup of an entire league as a file, or export your own personal data (GDPR) from your profile at any time. Deleting a league now also goes through a safety grace window instead of vanishing instantly.
- 2026-07-23 · New — Franchise pages: identity, records & legends: Every team now has a franchise page built from league history — colors, motto and philosophy you can customize, plus your all-time record, a season-by-season timeline, trophies and the legends who wore your jersey.
- 2026-07-23 · New — GM career profile: A personal profile that follows your career as a general manager — the manager behind the team, tracked across seasons rather than just your current roster.
- 2026-07-14 · New — Full CBA 1:1 — cap exceptions, luxury tax, double apron, Bird tiers, sign-and-trade and more: The salary engine now covers the entire NBA 2023 CBA, all as per-league commissioner toggles (default off): cap exceptions (Non-Taxpayer & Taxpayer MLE, Room, Bi-Annual, minimum contracts) with their induced hard caps; a graduated luxury tax paid in next season's cap with the 3-of-4 repeater rule and redistribution; the double apron with 100% flat matching, prior-year TPE bans and frozen first-round picks; three-tier Bird rights; cap holds on every expiring free agent with an explicit renounce step; the real qualifying-offer formula with starter criteria; sign-and-trades with Base Year Compensation; player options decided by a synthetic agent; the stretch provision on cuts; veteran extensions; 10-day contracts and NBA two-way rules for the taxi squad. The /cba transparency page reflects the new statuses.
- 2026-07-08 · New — CBA Implementation page: A new public page at /cba lays out, rule by rule, how faithfully the platform implements the real NBA CBA — Bird rights, Restricted Free Agency, max salary by service years, the apron, Stepien rule, salary matching, Traded Player Exceptions, waivers and more — with each rule's honest status (live / partial / planned) and the per-league commissioner toggle that turns it on or off.
- 2026-07-08 · New — Post-signing trade lock: A new opt-in rule mirrors the NBA restriction that a just-signed free agent can't be flipped right away: when on, a player signed from the auction or market is trade-locked for a configurable number of days (default 90). Off by default, in the Salary System settings.
- 2026-07-08 · New — Waiver wire: With the waiver wire on, a cut player clears through waivers before free agency: rivals submit blind claims and the worst-ranked team that fits the contract wins it — with no dead cap for the team that let him go. A claimed player is trade-locked for a set window. Off by default, configurable in the Salary System settings; the board lives on the Market page.
- 2026-07-08 · Improved — Clearer commissioner settings: Every rule in the Salary System panel is now a proper on/off switch with a plain-language description of what it does, on top of the numeric-example tooltips — no more guessing what a toggle enables.
- 2026-07-07 · New — Traded Player Exceptions (TPE): An unbalanced trade now automatically credits the sending team a TPE worth the salary difference, valid for one year: use it in a later trade to absorb an incoming contract without cap space, never past the apron. Off by default — commissioners enable it in the Salary System settings.
- 2026-07-07 · New — The Salary Playbook: A new public page linked from the Salary Engine: every front-office action — signings, cuts, options, IR, Bird, RFA, taxi poaching, retained salary, matching, TPEs, rookie holds, expansion — explained with who does it, where, when and a worked numeric example.
- 2026-07-07 · Improved — Clearer money, everywhere: The financial dashboard now breaks down everything that weighs on your cap (frozen auction bids, RFA and rookie holds, empty-slot reserve) and draws the salary floor and apron lines on the multi-year chart. Every Salary System setting in the commissioner panel gained an explanatory tooltip with a concrete example.
- 2026-07-07 · New — NBA-style trade salary matching: Over-the-cap teams can now trade like real NBA front offices: incoming salary is validated against the real CBA matching formula (200% / Expanded TPE / 125%), with the hard-cap apron as the absolute wall. Off by default — commissioners enable it in the Salary System settings.
- 2026-07-06 · New — Experience levels at league creation: When creating a league you now pick a starting level — Annual, Keeper, Dynasty or GM Simulation — instead of facing every setting at once. It bundles the right options for you; everything stays editable afterwards.
